Tell us what makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider. As a Christian, I felt called to a career which would provide an opportunity to serve people. Healthcare is necessary for such a variety of individual needs over the lifespan; I love assisting my patients as their need for care develops or changes. I find joy in working with patients to improve acute or chronic conditions as well guiding patients to maintain optimum health. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? Primary care providers offer education, recommendations, and screenings for health maintenance. Providers offer initial and follow up assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for many conditions. In addition, primary care enables building a provider-patient relationship to have a source for obtaining any necessary orders for labs, imaging, medication, and specialty referrals. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I enjoy walking on the beach, hiking to waterfalls, and finding new places to see with my family. A great deal of my "spare" time is spent managing children's sports/activities. I also I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking and Bible study.
